FanTeam was launched in 2013. FanTeam is primarily a fantasy sports betting site, where members can pay to play in fantasy sports leagues and tournaments. While this is their main focus, they also offer a standard sportsbook which is similar to what you would expect from the usual online bookmakers.

How to place a bet at FanTeam

Now that you have funded your account, you are ready to place your first bet. This is an easy process at FanTeam; just follow the instructions below. In this example, we are going to bet on England to beat Greece in the UEFA Nations League:

1. From the FanTeam homepage, navigate to the Sportsbook.
2. Events are organised chronologically at FanTeam, so we are going to navigate to tomorrow’s events, as that is when the match we want to bet on takes place.
3. Scroll down the list of events until you find the fixture that you want to bet on. Click on it.
4. Click on the odds of your desired selection (A), at which point a betslip tab will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click on the little ‘up’ arrow (B) to maximise it.
5. Enter the amount you wish to enter in the box (A) then click the yellow ‘Place Bet’ button (B).
6. Check the details of your wager, then click the yellow ‘Confirm’ button. A message will flash up at the bottom of your screen to show that your bet has been placed successfully.

How to withdraw from FanTeam

If you are lucky enough that your bet wins, you can withdraw your winnings from your FanTeam account. Follow these steps to do so:

1. Click on the Cashier tab.
2. Click on ‘Withdrawal’ on the page that appears.
3. Select the payment method you wish to withdraw to (A) enter the amount you wish to withdraw in the box (B) then click the green ‘Payout’ button to confirm your withdrawal.

There is no live streaming available at FanTeam. They do, however, have a ‘Live Results’ section of their website, which allows users to track the score and match highlights, linked to their fantasy team betting offering. This does at least allow bettors to track the action as it happens, despite not being able to place bets live.

The FanTeam app is functional to use. The sportsbook menu is not straightforward to navigate, but once you have found the event you want to bet on, it is easy to place a wager.

Straightforward actions such as making a deposit are readily available, but information such as customer promotions is either missing or nigh on impossible to find. The iPhone version of the app also gives users the option to use Face ID rather than having to enter your login credentials each time you open the app.

We found that the FanTeam app mirrored the desktop experience, although this is not necessarily a good thing. Both share a distinct lack of different sports to bet on, organised in a way that is not intuitive for bettors to navigate. One plus point of the app over the desktop site is that on iOS, you can set up Face ID to skip the login process.

Conclusion & Rating

In conclusion, FanTeam’s sportsbook offering does not set the world alight. With limited sports available to begin with and a complete lack of In Play betting, there is little to offer the discerning sports bettor.

Furthermore, there are not currently any promotions at FanTeam for existing sportsbook customers, let alone a sportsbook welcome bonus. The only promotions available here are for their Fantasy offering, which admittedly is their USP, but not something of interest to those looking to place a traditional bet.

Having said that, FanTeam’s Customer Service Team is very good, offering a near-immediate response on their Live Chat service, providing clear and comprehensive answers to any queries, all within a friendly and welcoming chat atmosphere.

There are also a good range of payment options available at FanTeam, although customers are limited to two ‘free’ withdrawals per month – any more than this will be charged a not-insignificant fee. PaySafeCard deposits are also subject to a whopping 10% fee.

All in all, while there are some positives, there are much better options than FanTeam out there for bettors to enjoy, when it comes to online sports betting. Therefore, we award this provider a 2/5 rating.
