Throughout this review, we’ll look at everything it has to offer to see if it measures up to other bookmakers in the sector and whether it could be a good option for betting.

Looking at the range of games on offer, the first thing we noticed was that they have quite a wide variety of sports, with plenty of betting options.

Football is the main sport, with plenty of markets, followed by other popular sports such as tennis, basketball, darts, boxing, golf, ice hockey and baseball. They also offer sports that are less common at other bookmakers, such as cricket, snooker, Aussie Rules, badminton, lacrosse, squash and water polo; there’s a good mix and some unusual options for trying out new things.

One aspect that really caught our attention is that they also offer e-sports, something that’s becoming increasingly popular and which not all bookmakers feature so prominently.

We also spotted a ‘Specials’ section, which includes a range of different betting options such as politics, awards and other events outside the realm of traditional sport. This is great because it offers more choice if you want to bet on different things rather than just matches.

What we did miss, however, was horse racing. It’s a fairly standard sport in the betting world, particularly in the UK, and we were surprised not to see it included in their offering.

Mr Vegas Football

The football section is huge in terms of leagues and countries; they cover football from England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France, as well as competitions from Europe and the rest of the world, including countries such as Brazil, Argentina, the United States, Japan, Australia, China, Canada and many more. Even smaller leagues such as those in Albania, Cyprus, Kosovo and the Faroe Islands are included, so there’s plenty on offer.

You can also filter by today’s, tomorrow’s, upcoming or featured matches, making it easier to find what interests you. There are also special markets and boosted odds, which are improved odds on certain matches.

They have a Bet Builder feature, which allows you to combine several markets from the same match into a single bet; you can mix match results, goals, cards or player statistics within the same match. There’s also the option for live betting, where you can place bets whilst the match is in progress, with odds that change in real time.

Mr Vegas Tennis Betting

In tennis, they cover Grand Slams, Challenger tournaments, ITF Women’s and ITF Men’s events, as well as both men’s and women’s UTR tournaments, so there’s plenty of variety for following different levels of tennis.

We placed a bet on the match between Joao Fonseca and Dino Prizmic at Roland Garros. It was a fairly even contest, and we followed the match whilst trying out some live markets as the score changed.

There’s plenty of information available during live matches. You can see the score in real time, full statistics, a match overview, a predictor, head-to-head records, the tournament draw, commentary, players’ recent form, fun facts, the TV channel broadcasting the match and rankings. All of this helps you understand how the match is going without leaving the section.

Mr Vegas Basketball bets

In the basketball section, we found the offering to be very extensive and quite comprehensive. The NBA is the main league, but there are also many other competitions such as European leagues, the NCAAB, the WNBA, the WNBA Commissioners’ Cup, the NBA Draft, the NCAAB Women’s Division, and a host of international leagues from Africa, Spain, Italy, Paraguay, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Portugal, the UK and many other countries, so there are options to follow basketball from practically anywhere in the world.

We placed a bet on a Basketball Africa League match between Al Ahly TEGY and the Tigers. This gave us the chance to test how the live betting section works. During the match, there was an animated screen displaying the action and the score in real time. Within the match itself, we had access to live statistics, where we could see the performance of each team and the players, the head-to-head record of previous encounters between the two sides, the competition standings to see each team’s position in the league, and a timeline featuring the match’s key moments, such as scoring runs or changes in momentum.

Mr Vegas other sports

We also tried placing bets on other sports that aren’t the most common, to see how everything worked outside of football and basketball. We looked at sports such as darts, boxing and motor racing, and the experience was quite similar across the board, with clear markets, easy-to-understand odds and live betting options. There were also plenty of markets available for sports such as snooker and cricket.

One area that really caught our attention was the special bets section, which isn’t limited to sport. There, we placed a bet on a market related to the Swedish elections, testing out how the political betting options worked.

Welcome bonus

When we looked at the welcome promotion, we found it considerably more appealing than others we’d seen at similar bookmakers. They offer £30 in free bets split into three £10 bets, which is a great way to start trying out markets without risking too much money.

To claim it, here’s what we did:

  1. sign up
  2. deposit at least 10 pounds
  3. enter the code SPORTS when making the deposit
  4. we then had to place valid sports bets worth at least 10 pounds with odds of 1.80 or higher
  5. once those bets had been settled, we received the first £10 free bet. The other two were unlocked each time we used the previous one.

Any winnings from the free bets can be withdrawn, and there are no additional wagering requirements on that money – something that’s often the case with many other bookmakers.

It’s not the best promotion we’ve tried, but for getting started and testing out the sports section, we thought it was quite good.

Other offers and promotions for existing users

After trying out the welcome promotion, we looked for more offers to see if there were any weekly promotions, enhanced odds or sports challenges, but we didn’t find anything in that section.

The only thing we saw apart from the welcome bonus were promotions focused on the casino, with free spins and offers for slots, but nothing specifically for sports betting. We were quite surprised by this, as many bookmakers usually have promotions for football, tennis or in-play betting.

It’s a shame because sports promotions are always a big help and make you more keen to keep betting with the same bookmaker. When a website has good free bets, enhanced odds or weekly challenges, you end up logging in more often and trying out more markets. When these aren’t available, it’s easier to end up using another bookmaker that does offer that sort of thing. We hope they’ll add new sports promotions in the future.

Loyalty programme

Having seen that there were no promotions focused on sports betting, we already suspected that it probably wouldn’t have a loyalty or rewards programme for regular users either. Even so, we searched through the entire sports section and the user account to check properly, but we couldn’t find anything related to points, tiers or rewards for betting frequently.

These kinds of programmes make you more keen to return and continue using the website; we think it would be a very good idea for them to add something like this in the future, particularly to retain new users and compete more effectively with other bookmakers that do offer long-term rewards.

Registration at Mr Vegas

We found the registration process at Mr Vegas to be quite quick; as soon as we entered the website, we went to the ‘Create Account’ option and the steps were quite straightforward.

  1. First, we filled in our details, such as first name, surname, date of birth, address, email address and telephone number.
  2. We then chose a username and password to access the account.
  3. We had to confirm our email address to activate our profile
  4. We then moved on to identity verification, which is mandatory at UK bookmakers. We were asked to provide an official document to verify that our details were genuine.
MrVegas Sports Registration UK pcMrVegas Sports Registration UK
As for the requirements, we had to be over 18, provide accurate information, complete the KYC verification process and accept the bookmaker’s terms of use. They also checked that we weren’t already registered with another account.

It was quite straightforward and within a few minutes our account was ready to use and place bets.

Deposits & withdrawals

To make a deposit, simply go to the deposit option, choose a method, enter the amount and follow the payment provider’s instructions. The minimum deposit is £10 and the funds usually appear in your account straight away – quick enough to start betting.

We also noted that they do not charge any fees for deposits, although this may depend on the payment method you use. Should a deposit fail, the money is refunded to the original payment method within 48 hours, which gave us considerable peace of mind.

The process for withdrawals is similar; you do this from your profile by selecting the ‘Withdraw’ option. The minimum withdrawal amount is 20 pounds and, in some cases, they may ask for document verification before approving it.

Withdrawal times depend on the method used. For card or bank transfer withdrawals, it can take up to 5 working days; with e-wallets, funds can arrive in around 15 minutes once approved. We also noted that there are no fees for withdrawing money.

Some withdrawals may take a little longer as they are manually reviewed for licensing reasons, although you’ll be notified by email once they’ve been processed.

There is also a ‘loop’ rule which requires you to first withdraw using the same method you used to deposit until that cycle is complete; only then can you use other methods.

Mr Vegas Mobile App

Mr Vegas doesn’t have a mobile app, and we didn’t like this because we tend to bet quite a lot on our phones and an app is quicker and more convenient.

As there isn’t one, what we did was create a shortcut on the home screen to go straight to the website without having to search for it every time. From there, we use the mobile browser version.

The mobile website adapts quite well; everything is responsive and you can navigate it without any problems. The menus are clear, the markets load well and nothing important is missing compared to the desktop version. Although there’s no app, the mobile version can be used without any issues for betting or following events.

Customer Support and Available Languages

We contacted customer support when we had a problem with a withdrawal that wasn’t progressing and remained pending for longer than expected.

We accessed the live chat to try and resolve it. We were assisted by a chatbot that responded automatically based on what we typed. We explained the situation and it guided us through various options until we were able to check the status of the withdrawal and verify our account. In the end, we realised the delay was due to a mandatory manual review and we simply had to wait for it to be approved – something the system itself made clear to us after several queries.

The chatbot responds quite quickly and works well for resolving basic queries or simple issues, and the good thing is that it’s available 24/7, so you can get in touch at any time without having to wait for opening hours.

We also noticed there’s an option to send an email or provide a contact number, although we didn’t use it.

What we found lacking was an FAQ section; many queries could be resolved there without needing to use the chat. We also weren’t too keen on the fact that the chat isn’t a real agent, because when the problem is more specific, you realise that a bot is rather limited.

Awards and Recognitions

We checked to see if the company had received any awards or recognition, but we couldn’t find anything to that effect.

There is no section listing recent awards, certifications or accolades that would indicate any kind of recognition within the sports betting or casino sector.

This doesn’t tell us much either, as there are operators that perform well without displaying this sort of information, but it is something that tends to inspire greater confidence.

Usability, design and user experience

We found the design a bit cluttered, with too many sections, colours and options on screen. We prefer a minimalist style, where everything is cleaner and simpler, but we also understand that it’s a matter of taste and some people prefer to have lots of information visible as soon as they log in.

In terms of usability, the website works well and is easy to navigate without any issues, and with so many options available, it’s easy to find what you’re looking for quickly.

We also looked for reviews from other users to see what they had to say about the bookmaker.

Mary Hill

Thanks to this bookmaker, I discovered darts betting – it’s great fun. I like that they have a good range of sports on offer, allowing me to try sports I hadn’t heard of before.

James Carter

Deposits go very smoothly; the money is credited instantly and I haven’t had any problems topping up my account – it’s all quite quick and straightforward.

Oliver Smith

What I liked least is that I only found the welcome offer; I was hoping to see more active promotions for sports betting.

Daniel Brown

I think the odds are pretty good compared to other bookmakers, especially for football; I usually find value in various matches.

Responsible Gambling

They have quite a few tools to help you manage your gambling. The first thing they make clear is that only those aged 18 or over can gamble, and they use identity verification to check this. They also explain that gambling is purely for entertainment and that if anyone feels they’re losing control, they can ask for help or set restrictions on their account.

One of the most important features is the limits you can set. You can set limits on deposits, losses, maximum stakes or even playing time. There are also session reminders and options to block your account for a period if you need a break.

Another important feature is self-exclusion; you can block your account for a period ranging from several months to years. During this time, you cannot log in, place bets or receive promotions. They also recommend registering with external services such as GAMSTOP to block access to multiple bookmakers at once if necessary.

They provide advice for parents and tools to block access to betting websites or limit advertising on social media.

There is also external support available from organisations such as GamCare, GambleAware or Gambling Therapy, where you can speak to professionals if you feel that gambling is affecting your life.
