The draws for Round 2A and 2B of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship were completed on Tuesday, setting up a series of intriguing encounters across the competition.
Several eye-catching ties emerged from the draw, with defending Ulster champions Armagh handed a difficult assignment against Louth, while Dublin must travel to face Cavan as they attempt to keep their championship ambitions alive.
Teams in Round 2A remain just one victory away from a place in the All-Ireland quarter-finals, while those in Round 2B face a far more precarious situation, with defeat bringing an immediate end to their season.
All-Ireland SFC Round 2A draw
The four Round 2A fixtures are:
Donegal v Cork
Galway v Westmeath
Tyrone v Mayo
Louth v Armagh
Tyrone against Mayo brings together two traditional championship heavyweights, while Armagh‘s meeting with Louth offers a fascinating contest between two teams that impressed in the opening round.
Galway will be expected to start as favourites against Westmeath, but the Leinster champions have already shown they are capable of upsetting more fancied opposition. Meanwhile, Donegal and Cork meet in what could be one of the most competitive fixtures of the round.
The winners of these matches will advance directly to the All-Ireland quarter-finals, while the losers will receive another opportunity through Round 3.
