Q88Bets is one of the most popular betting sites from ProgressPlay, an old favourite of ours. To see if it’s worth it and get an inside look, we signed up and tested all its betting features.
During our review, we found thousands of bets across around 40 sports with incredibly competitive odds and good profit margins, a good range of free bets and promotions with flexible terms that might interest you. Here we’ll share our impressions of this site and tell you whether Q88Bets is a good place to place bets and make online payments legally and securely in the UK. Let’s get started!
Q88Bets Review – UK’s Premier Sportsbook
During our review of Q88Bets, we discovered that this site is operated in the UK by ProgressPlay, a company holding a UKGC licence and an international licence from Malta. This means it accepts players from the UK and other countries.
We also took an in-depth look at its sports betting offering, which includes coverage of over 40 sports and hundreds of markets with excellent odds. It even has local deposit and withdrawal methods, including card payments, bank transfers, mobile payments and e-wallets such as PayPal, Skrill and Neteller, just like other ProgressPlay sites we’ve reviewed previously.
But these are just a few of the many things we discovered during our thorough review. We’ll now give you more details on the sports available at Q88Bets, its promotional offers and the rest of this bookmaker’s features.
Q88Bets Football
The football offering at Q88Bets is extensive, and we really appreciate that. Here we were able to access bets on top competitions such as the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup, as well as the major European leagues including those in Spain, Germany, Italy and France. We even found bets on top-tier competitions such as the Champions League and the FIFA World Cup.
What surprised us most was that it also covered top-flight and lower-tier leagues in over 30 countries with highly liquid markets such as 1X2, Double Chance, Draw No Bet, Total Goals, Prop Bets, and European and Asian goal handicaps. This makes it perfect for football fans.
But best of all were its enhanced odds on key markets such as 1X2. These are marked with a green rocket icon, though they are also grouped in the ‘Boosted Odds’ section of the left-hand panel. We took advantage of them whenever we could to boost our winnings.
Here, we also placed pre-match and in-play bets using Cashout and BetBuilder without any issues. We were even able to make long-term (outright) predictions and place chain bets to protect our funds in case we didn’t get some selections right.
Q88Bets Horse Racing
At Q88Bets, you can bet on all the Royal Ascot horse races, such as the prestigious Ascot Gold Cup and the Prince of Wales’s Stakes for older horses. Fortunately, this site covers the rest of the races in this event, including the King Charles III Stakes and the Coventry Stakes, two historic races we wouldn’t miss for the world.
The range of horse racing bets at Q88Bets also covers the Cheltenham Festival and the Kempton and Aintree racecourses, making it particularly appealing to fans of the sport.
That said, as these are outright horse racing bets, we only find bets on the winning horse; unfortunately, there are no Each-Way, Place Only, Forecasts or Tricast markets.
Q88Bets Golf Betting
There are plenty of golf bets available at Q88Bets for tournaments such as The Open Championship, the most prestigious in the UK. We also saw that it offers bets on The Masters, the US Open, the Ryder Cup, the Solheim Cup and others. Generally, this site only offers moneyline bets, but during our review there were no tournaments in progress, so we only found outright bets.
Q88Bets Basketball bets
There are plenty of basketball bets at Q88Bets, particularly for the NBA and WNBA. After a thorough review, we found outright bets for both leagues, as well as pre-match and live bets with HD live streaming for key regular-season and NBA Play-off fixtures, including the NBA Cup, NBA All-Star Game and NBA Finals. We even found bets for the NBA Draft.
The downside is that Q88Bets does not cover the Super League Basketball, nor the SLB Trophy or any other local basketball tournament, but it does cover top leagues from other countries such as Spain’s ACB or Germany’s BBL.
And what about the basketball markets? Luckily, there are over 350 betting markets. The ones we used most were Match Winner, Match Result (Regular Time), Totals and Handicaps. We also made good use of the player markets to predict statistics such as three-pointers, two-pointers, rebounds and assists per player or team.
Q88Bets other sports
As we mentioned at the start, we found around 40 sports on Q88Bets, including eSports and political betting. Let’s take a look at the full list:
Bonuses and Promotions at Q88Bets
We’ve taken a look at what Q88Bets has to offer to find out about its welcome bonus. This is a promotion that awards £10 in free bets with 1X wagering requirements after depositing and betting at least £10. Checking the promotions section of the site, we also found the ACCA Super Boost promotion, plenty of cashback offers for major sporting events and an interesting rewards programme. Here are the details.
Welcome bonus
The Q88Bets new customer offer is a £10 free bet that we were able to claim after registering and placing a bet of at least £10. It’s a very common offer in the UK, so it didn’t really surprise us. But we appreciate that it has very simple terms and conditions, including a low wagering requirement of just 1x on winnings.
These are all the terms and conditions for this welcome offer:
- Minimum deposit: £10
- Minimum bet: £10
- Duration: 7 days
- Wagering requirements: 1x
- Minimum odds: 1.5
- Stake not returned: Yes
- Maximum conversion: £200
Other offers and promotions for existing users
Q88Bets has a good range of promotions, better than we initially expected, to be honest. This includes a decent welcome bonus and regular offers that are mainly based on cashback packages for major events such as the World Cup, the Premier League or a Formula 1 weekend, ideal for those of us who bet heavily and tend to go on losing streaks from time to time.
However, we would have liked to see more free bets at Q88Bets than we were able to obtain – one after registering and another after making several deposits and placing real bets through the rewards programme, which also allowed us to receive a non-withdrawable betting credit valid for any sports bet.
Let’s take a look at the offers and promotions for existing users available at Q88Bets:
- ACCA Super Boost: boosts the winnings on our £5 ACCA bets with at least 3 selections by up to 100%.
- Cashback bonuses: Q88Bets offers cashback packages of at least 10% up to £500 if you deposit using promotional codes for major events such as the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, Premier League or Royal Ascot horse racing.
- Match X: a mini-game where you predict sports results, with rewards in the form of free bets and accumulative points.
Loyalty programme
Q88Bets has its own loyalty programme that awards free bets, gaming credits and cashback packages to those who deposit and bet frequently. It operates on a points-based system: the more points you accumulate, the more benefits you receive. Please note that rewards may be subject to certain conditions, which vary depending on the benefit.
The downside of this programme is that it does not count deposits made via Skrill and Neteller. So avoid using these payment methods when making deposits if you want to receive exclusive rewards.
Registration at Q88Bets
The Q88Bets registration process is quick and easy. Based on our experience, it takes less than a minute. Make sure you follow these steps exactly to create your account without any errors:
- Go to q88bets.com
- Click on “Join now” and then on “Register”.
- Create your username and password, enter your email and phone number, and then confirm that you are of legal age (18+) and accept the site’s terms and conditions.
- Enter your personal details and address information.
- Complete the registration.
Deposits & withdrawals
Q88Bets offers a good selection of payment methods. Fortunately, most are widely used in the UK, such as debit cards and PayPal. We also find two of our favourites: PayviaPhone for quick mobile payments and traditional bank transfers.
And how long does a withdrawal take at Q88Bets? After making several withdrawals, we found that it takes 1 working day, as this is the standard withdrawal time at Q88Bets. However, the support agent told us that it can sometimes take longer.
Remember that you must verify your identity with a valid ID document to make withdrawals. Another thing: every withdrawal of £3 or less will incur a small 1% fee. So make sure you make larger deposits.
Limits
Q88Bets has a low betting limit starting at £0.1. As such, it does not have a defined maximum limit, but it does have a button labelled ‘Max amount’ which tells us the maximum we can bet on a given bet.
As for deposit limits, these range from £10 to £2,500. However, a Q88Bets support agent told us that we could increase these by verifying our identity and making a formal request. They also mentioned VIP player limits, explaining that these are customised limits for those who make large deposits and bet frequently.
Q88Bets Mobile App
There is no Q88Bets app, at least not at the moment. It seems one is on the way, but we couldn’t actually confirm this information. So we had to use the Q88Bets mobile website on iPhone and Android to make payments and place bets online.
Overall, our experience with the mobile website was good, but a little unstable: pages would sometimes refresh on their own, something that wouldn’t happen with an app. We also noticed that mobile data usage during our betting sessions was much higher than usual, especially when placing live bets.
Customer Support and Available Languages
We made a couple of enquiries with this bookmaker to get a closer look at Q88Bets’ personalised support for UK players. First we tried the live chat, then the support email. Our experience was good: we received replies in under a minute most of the time, but only via live chat, as communication by email was much slower.
Unfortunately, this bookmaker does not offer personalised support via phone and only provides service in English, despite also accepting players from other countries. So make sure you have a translation tool to hand when speaking to a Q88Bets UK support agent.
Awards and Recognitions
We could not find any awards or recognitions granted to Q88Bets UK. Nor could we find any nominations of any kind. However, ProgressPlay was nominated for the EGR B2B Awards several times in the Safer Gambling and White-Label Partner categories.
Usability, design and user experience
We liked the Q88Bets website interface as it is simple, modern and intuitive. However, loading times are somewhat slow, perhaps due to a lack of optimisation or the animation that appears on screen when clicking on a new betting section. We are not sure. But that did not spoil our user experience, which was good.
We checked that betting tools such as Cashout and BetBuilder worked well, as did live streaming, real-time statistics and the rest of the betting features.
Personally, we didn’t have any issues when placing bets, making payments or claiming bonuses and promotions. So we’re happy with Q88Bets.
Responsible Gambling
Like any good ProgressPlay bookmaker, Q88Bets UK has a very comprehensive Responsible Gambling section. There we found the usual advice for players, as well as gambling control tools such as self-exclusion and limits on deposits, bets and losses. At the end of the section, there are numerous support contacts for those with gambling problems.
These are all the gambling control tools available at Q88Bets UK:
