Jordan vs Algeria – Predictions and Odds – 2026 World Cup (23/06/2026)

The second matchday of the World Cup will see Jordan and Algeria face each other at the San Francisco Bay Stadium. Both teams started the tournament with a defeat and need to pick up points to keep their qualification hopes alive. Although both sides fell in their opening matches, they left positive glimpses to consider. Furthermore, the tournament format, which allows the eight best third-placed teams to progress to the next round, means this match remains highly important.
Jordan
Jordan lost 3-1 to Austria, but they were probably one of the national teams that left the best impression relative to pre-match expectations. After a difficult opening few minutes, the team reacted, pushed forward and managed to trouble an opponent that started as the clear favourite.
Ali Olwan was the standout figure of the match, scoring and confirming that he could become one of the revelations of the tournament. Abu Taha and defender Nasib also performed well, helping the team grow during various phases of the game. Jordan showed courage, character and a much more ambitious approach than expected.
Algeria
Algeria lost 3-0 to Argentina in a result that was perhaps too harsh a punishment for what was seen on the pitch. During several stretches of the match, the African side was able to control possession and show character with the ball. Players like Maza, Chaïbi and Boudaoui showed flashes of quality and allowed the team to compete during many phases.
However, Algeria lacked depth in attack and barely managed to create clear chances. Gouiri was heavily involved in building up play but found little space against a solid Argentine defence. Beyond the scoreline, the feeling was that of a team with technical resources and the capacity to compete, although penalized by the incredible level shown by Leo Messi and the reigning world champions.
Our Prediction: Algeria to win or draw + Goal range: 2-6 (Odds: 1.53)
It is true that Jordan left a better impression in their debut regarding expectations, but the opponents must also be put into context. Algeria faced the current world champions and suffered from the inspiration of a decisive Messi, while Jordan faced an Austria side that was less demanding on paper.
We believe Algeria possesses more individual talent and a more complete squad. The double chance covers a potential draw, while a goal interval of between two and six seems very reasonable. Jordan tends to concede chances and Algeria has enough quality to score, but I do not expect a frantic match that goes wildly over that figure.
