Arsenal come into the tie in stronger form, having won all six of their competitive matches this season. Mikel Arteta’s side have also looked extremely solid defensively, conceding just once in their first four Premier League games and keeping four clean sheets across their last five competitive fixtures.

The main question is rotation. Arsenal face a demanding schedule and could rest several regular starters, which adds some uncertainty to what would otherwise look like a straightforward away-win angle.

Recent meetings also favour the Gunners. Arsenal beat Ipswich 1-0 and 4-0 in the 2024/25 Premier League season, although those results should not carry too much weight given changes to both squads.

For me, Arsenal remain the stronger betting option. Ipswich have enough attacking threat to make the tie competitive, but Arsenal’s defensive quality and squad depth give them the edge.

Arsenal to win

Odds 9/20

I'm keeping this one simple. Ipswich can make it lively at Portman Road, but Arsenal's control, depth and defensive level are hard for me to oppose. Rotation is the one thing that makes me slightly cautious, otherwise the away win is the cleanest play.

Arsenal to win to nil

Odds 7/5

I'll push the Arsenal angle a little further. They've been ridiculously hard to score against, and I can see them taking the sting out of this once the early cup energy fades. Ipswich have threats, no doubt, but Arsenal shutting the door and winning is the price that catches my eye.
