Rangers vs Jablonec Prediction (Conference League) Odds and Bets 20.08.2026
Rangers welcome FK Jablonec to Ibrox on Thursday night for the first leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off, with a place in the league phase at stake over two matches. Rangers finally found some attacking rhythm with a 5-1 win over St Mirren at the weekend, but it would be risky to treat this as a straightforward home banker.
Jablonec arrive in Glasgow on a six-match winning run and, importantly, their league fixture scheduled for 16 August was postponed following their European progress.
Rangers have home advantage and greater attacking depth, while Jablonec bring excellent form, defensive solidity and more recovery time. What might the score be? We take a closer look below.

How Rangers and Jablonec are shaping up
Rangers form
The 5-1 win over St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup was Derek McInnes’ first competitive victory in charge and, more importantly for me, there was finally some variety in the Rangers attack. Ryan Naderi, Vanja Dragojević, Djeidi Gassama, James Penrice and Ross McCausland all scored, while Rangers registered 11 shots on target.
However, I would not overlook what came before it. Rangers’ first five competitive matches of the 2026/27 season produced just one win, two draws and two defeats: a 1-1 draw at Dundee United, a 2-1 defeat and 1-1 draw against Jagiellonia Białystok, a 2-1 home defeat to Hibernian and the 5-1 win over St Mirren. That gives them nine goals scored and seven conceded, with both teams scoring in all five matches.
There is also a significant attacking absentee. Rangers have officially confirmed that Youssef Chermiti suffered an ACL injury against Hibernian and will be out for a significant period.
Jablonec form
Jablonec’s recent record deserves more respect than the outright market might initially suggest. They have won six consecutive competitive matches, beginning with a 2-1 league victory over Sigma Olomouc and continuing with wins against Varaždin, Pardubice, RFS twice and Slovácko. Across those six victories they have scored 11 goals and conceded only two.
Their last five matches look even stronger: five wins, nine goals scored, only one conceded and four clean sheets. They beat Varaždin 2-0, Pardubice 2-0, RFS 2-0, Slovácko 1-0 and RFS 2-1.
Their most recent match was the 2-1 away victory over RFS on 13 August, giving them a full week between games. Their scheduled league trip to Bohemians Praha 1905 on 16 August was postponed after Jablonec qualified for the play-off. Rangers, by comparison, played St Mirren on Sunday and have only four days between fixtures.
Key factors behind my Rangers vs Jablonec prediction
Rangers finally have something positive to build on
I put more weight on the nature of the St Mirren performance than simply the scoreline. Five different goalscorers and 11 efforts on target are encouraging signs after a difficult opening few weeks. McInnes also made clear afterwards that Rangers now need to build on that performance.
Jablonec’s defensive numbers are difficult to ignore
Four clean sheets in their last five matches is an impressive short-term trend, particularly when combined with five straight victories. Their last five scorelines have been 2-0, 2-0, 2-0, 1-0 and 2-1.
Rangers are still giving opponents chances
This is the main reason I would not want to make a Rangers clean sheet part of my main bet. They have conceded in all five competitive matches this season. Even after the 5-1 victory over St Mirren, McInnes admitted he was unhappy with the two or three chances his side gave away.
The rest advantage favours Jablonec
Jablonec were able to remove their domestic fixture from the weekend schedule entirely, while Rangers had to play a competitive cup tie. Seven days between matches compared with four is not decisive on its own, but it could matter in the first leg of a European play-off. I expect the visitors to have enough energy to stay organised while still posing a threat when Rangers push players forward.
What the current odds are telling us
Odds currently makes Rangers 2/5 favourites, with the draw at 19/5 and Jablonec at 13/2. A price of 2/5 represents a raw implied probability of approximately 71.4%, before the bookmaker’s margin is taken into account. Given Jablonec’s form, I would not want to take Rangers at substantially shorter odds, although I still prefer the home side to win the first leg rather than oppose them outright.

Rangers vs Jablonec statistics
| Statistic | Rangers | Jablonec |
|---|---|---|
| Last five competitive matches | W1 D2 L2 | W5 D0 L0 |
| Goals scored, last five | 9 | 9 |
| Goals conceded, last five | 7 | 1 |
| Clean sheets, last five | 0 | 4 |

| Over 2.5 goals, last five | 3/5 | 1/5 |
| Days since previous match | 4 | 7 |
| Current competitive winning run | 1 | 6 |
The figures are consistent with the verified recent results for both teams. Rangers’ last five have produced 16 total goals, with both teams scoring in every match. Jablonec, by contrast, have conceded just once in their last five and kept four clean sheets.
Rangers and Jablonec have therefore scored the same number of goals across their respective last five matches, but they have reached that figure in very different ways. Rangers’ matches have been far more open, while Jablonec have controlled games much more efficiently from a defensive point of view.

Rangers vs Jablonec predictions
Rangers to win
Jablonec are in excellent form, but I still trust Rangers more at Ibrox. The 5-1 win over St Mirren was their best attacking display of the season and showed a side beginning to click.
Jablonec will make them work for it, but I expect Rangers to have enough quality and pressure in the final third to get the job done.
Both teams to score
Rangers have scored in every competitive match this season. Jablonec, meanwhile, come into this after scoring in six straight wins.
Their defensive form is strong, so there is some risk here, but at 1/1 I like the price. A 2-1 Rangers win is very much the sort of game I can see unfolding.
