Wakefield Trinity and Leigh Leopards meet for the second Friday running, but this time the loser’s season is over. Fourth-placed Wakefield host fifth-placed Leigh in a Super League eliminator, with the winner progressing to the semi-finals.

Wakefield enter the play-offs with three consecutive victories, including last Friday’s 19-8 win at Leigh. Daryl Powell’s team led 13-0 at half-time and controlled the contest despite missing two important middles.
Trinity will be without Jayden Myers following a failed HIA, but Caleb Hamlin-Uele has declared himself fit after a knee problem. Ky Rodwell’s shoulder has also been monitored.
Leigh won three of their final five regular-season matches and scored 156 points during that sequence, including emphatic victories over Bradford and St Helens. However, their attack was restricted to eight points by Wakefield. Robbie Mulhern could miss the eliminator with another calf problem, while Isaac Liu is expected to return.
Wakefield vs Leigh prediction
Wakefield have a persuasive case as favourites. They finished four points above Leigh, earned home advantage and won both meetings between the teams this season: 18-14 in March and 19-8 last week.
The defensive trend also favours Trinity. They conceded only 38 points across their final three regular-season matches and demonstrated that they can frustrate Leigh by controlling territory and forcing them to chase the game.
Leigh remain dangerous because their recent attacking ceiling has been considerably higher. If they secure cleaner possession and play with greater tempo, the eliminator could be much closer than last week’s meeting. Nevertheless, Mulhern’s likely absence could weaken their middle against a Wakefield pack that already performed strongly in Leigh.
The price on a Wakefield victory is relatively short, but it reflects their stronger season, home advantage and dominance of this particular match-up. I would consider backing Trinity at approximately 4/7 or better.

Predictions for Wakefield vs Leigh
Wakefield Trinity to win
I’m keeping this one simple. Wakefield have beaten Leigh twice this season, they finished higher in the table and they handled last week's trip to Leigh impressively. Back at Belle Vue, I want Trinity on my side again. The danger is Leigh's attacking ceiling, but Wakefield have already shown they can slow them down.
Wakefield Trinity -3.5 handicap
Same side, bit more bite. I liked how Wakefield controlled the first half at Leigh and Hamlin-Uele's return gives their pack another lift. If Trinity get on top through the middle again, I fancy them to create enough daylight to cover a small handicap. Leigh absolutely have the firepower to spoil it, so this is the punchier play rather than the safe one.
