Where to place your bets

Each individual tip will have the bookmaker offering the most value on the selection at the time of writing. This will usually be because they have the best odds, but can also be influenced by promotions and bonuses being offered too. For example if the tip is on a horse in a race where one bookmaker is offering money back if they finish 2nd or 3rd, then even though they may be 7/4 rather than 2/1, that would still be the place to back it.

As a rule though we can say that if you are a numbers guy, and all that matters to you is the odds, nothing else, then you will definitely want to be betting on one of the betting exchanges.

Premium Tipping Services

We have tried and tested a number of the best online tipsters and of the ones worth mentioning, we have written up a review for you to make your own minds up. The only ones that we would consider are:

Betting Emporium

Running since 2013 professional poker players and sports gamblers Neil Channing and Joe Beevers set up Bettingemporium to not just give a tip but also a detailed case for why they are value bets. Members get full transparency and all bets, wins and losses, are published on the results page. They generally stick to major events such as for horse racing Cheltenham, Aintree, Ascot, Goodwood which means there is a fair chance you can bet on an event you were going to anyway. The same for tennis and golf where they only bet the four majors (The Australian Open, The French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open) and in golf it's the Majors and the Ryder Cup.  Football is where they generally have the most impressive Return On Investment though.

They do have a free weekly article but anyone who has paid the subscription price since they launched has done very well. Had you started out with a bank of £2,000 and bet £5 a point (average bet about £75) you would now have a bankroll of £35,325 a 1666% increase  (correct at 1st September 2024).
